"Acorn" Class (Our younger group, 2 years 9ms through 3 years old)

This class offers a gentle introduction to the school experience, and our commitment extends to supporting the entire family during this transition. The atmosphere is both warm and nurturing, providing a comforting initial step away from home. Our highly experienced and dedicated teachers work diligently to create a safe and stimulating environment tailored to the unique needs of each child in the group. The daily routine incorporates essential elements such as story time, circle time, free choice activities (art, dramatic play, etc.), and outdoor time in our two yard spaces. Just as in all classes at Brush Creek, every child is actively encouraged and treated with respect.

"Oak" Class (Our older 3's through 5 year-old's)

Our Oak class serves as a crucial bridge between early childhood and Kindergarten. We strongly believe in the effectiveness of play, hands-on experiences, and established routines for optimal learning in children of these ages. The classroom is designed to provide materials and activities that support growth across all developmental domains. With a class size of up to 27 children and three teachers, we offer a sold foundation for preschoolers, preparing them for the transition to Kindergarten. Throughout the school year, your child will become adept at navigating transitions, participating in large group activities, and enhancing self-help skills. Furthermore, they will develop essential social skills, including cooperation, problem-solving and conflict resolution. We are confident that this foundation will make your child an engaged and enthusiastic learner, ready not just for Kindergarten but for life!

Curriculum

Our curriculum is centered on the children’s interests, ensuring that our classrooms are continually evolving. Alongside this, we integrate traditional arts and crafts that align with the season, holidays and more. As a community-focused school, we frequently extend invitations to parents and families, encouraging them to actively participate by sharing their hobbies, activities and interests with the children.

We offer a variety of enrichment activities, including a buddy program with the Santa Rosa Accelerated Charter School, a Star Person Week to spotlight each child individually, baking and cooking days, and engaging guest experiences like Classroom Safari, enhancing the learning journey for our students.

Brush Creek tries to maintain a low-key policy where holidays are concerned. We use holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, etc. for a basis to learn about colors, customs, different countries, etc. We do not present religious aspects or theories behind these holidays. To be fair to all diverse backgrounds, we use a non-partisan approach.

Summer School

After a one week break in June, we offer an eight week summer school program with two-week “camp” style sessions. Summer school information will be available in early spring! We encourage early sign-up’s as there is a high demand.
